Talk - 'Operation Turtle Dove'

  • Baptist Chapel George Street Ipswich, England, IP7 United Kingdom (map)

Our guest speaker for this talk, Shirley Sampson, will talk about the project ‘Operation Turtle Dove’ https://www.operationturtledove.org/ which aims to increase the numbers of Turtle Doves. Sadly they are the UK’s fastest declining bird, and they are also threatened with extinction globally.

The Hadleigh-Sudbury area has been home to the doves in the past and with a hunting moratorium in Spain, Portugal and France the western European population is beginning to increase. The project wants to make sure there is adequate habitat and food sources for any returning doves.

Come along to hear about Turtle Doves and how we can help their recovery. If you have seen or heard one in recent years Shirley would love to hear from you!

Admission is free, no need to book. Refreshments will be provided. Donations welcome.
